Live flight data
While a leg is in progress, Tailstrike shows it live. You can watch your own flight, or you can watch the full network in real time.
Live gauges
- On your lease page and your hangar, an active flight shows a live instrument panel. It shows the altitude, the speed, the heading, the vertical speed, the fuel, the flaps and the gear. The plugin sends these values while you fly.
- Send the link to a friend. Then they can watch your flight in real time.
The dashboard
- The home page of the app starts with the live activity. When a pilot is in the air, the map at the top follows that flight, with its track. When no pilot is in the air, the map shows the most recent landing.
- Below the map, the dashboard adapts to you: your active lease when you have one, aircraft that you can fly next, and the live ATC and mission activity.
- Click an aircraft on the map. Then you see its photo, its pilot and its route.
The live map
- The full live map shows the live flights, the recent flights, the parked aircraft, the airports, and the VATSIM ATC coverage of the network.
- An active flight shows its callsign and its current position. The position changes while the aircraft flies.
- Open an active flight to see its route and its live data.
Airport pages
- Each airport has its own page: a satellite view, the live VATSIM ATC positions with their frequencies, the events and the missions that include the airport, and the aircraft that are available to lease there. Start from the Airport Lookup.
Note
Each pilot flies in real time. Therefore the position on the map is the actual position of the aircraft now.
