Adding aircraft to the network

A Supporter can add real-world aircraft to the shared fleet. Each aircraft that you add is public, each pilot can fly it, and it is permanent. Your name stays on it, as the pilot who endowed it.

Add-aircraft credits

  • To add one aircraft costs 1 credit.
  • You get 2 credits at your first subscription. Then you get 1 more credit for each two months that you pay for, at the payment. A monthly subscription earns a credit every second month. An annual subscription pays for 12 months at one time. Therefore it gives its 6 credits immediately. One year gives a total of 8 credits on both plans.
  • You can also get credits when you invite pilots.
  • Credits stay in your account, and they do not expire. To spend them, you must have an active Supporter subscription.

How to add an aircraft

  • In your hangar, open Add aircraft. Search the catalog of real-world registrations: by tailnumber, type, manufacturer or airline.
  • Select a real aircraft, select its home airport, and add it. It joins the fleet immediately, with its photo.
  • The aircraft page shows your name permanently: Endowed by you. Your hangar lists each aircraft that you endowed.

When the catalog does not have your aircraft

  • Search by the registration. If a photo of the real aircraft exists, you can submit the aircraft directly.
  • If there is no result, submit the aircraft manually: give its registration, its type and its airline.
  • We examine each submission before it goes live. Tailstrike reserves your credit at the submission. If we decline the submission, you get the credit back. You get a notification in both cases.
Note
To endow an aircraft does not give ownership or priority. The aircraft belongs to the community. Your name on it records that you brought it into the world. Do you want an aircraft that carries your name? See Patron an aircraft.
