Following & salutes
Tailstrike is more interesting with the pilots that you know. Follow a pilot, and the network shows you when they fly. When you like a flight, send a salute.
How to follow a pilot
- Select Follow on the hangar of a pilot, or in the Pilot Directory. One click is sufficient. There is no request and no approval.
- Each hangar shows the counts of followers, and the pilots who the pilot follows. When two pilots follow each other, the profile shows Follows you.
- Tailstrike suggests pilots for you: pilots who flew the same aircraft as you, pilots who you met on VATSIM, and pilots from your missions.
The Following card
- The dashboard has a Following card. It shows the pilots who you follow and who are in the air now. Open a flight, and watch it live.
- When a pilot who you follow streams on Twitch, the card shows the stream.
Salutes
- A salute is a small message with one meaning: a good flight. Send it from the Following card, or from a flight.
- The pilot gets a notification with your name.
Notifications
- The bell in the app tells you when a pilot follows you, when a pilot salutes your flight, and when a pilot joins with your invitation link.
Note
Intelligent Dispatch also knows who you follow. It can plan your flight to an airport where a pilot who you follow arrived a short time before.
