Cessna World Tour - Tailstrike Community Challenge

The Cessna World Tour

There is a Cessna 172, ZK-DAY, located at NZQN, Queenstown, New Zealand on the Tailstrike network. This is a special aircraft - it's going to tour the world, and the Tailstrike community is going to decide where it goes.

There's no fixed route, but there will constantly be a destination airport, typically thousands of miles away. Once that destination is reached, a new destination will be voted on by the community. Eventually, this aircraft will make it around the world, but not before creating unique stories and memorable moments that connect the pilots to this event forever.

Every flight will live permanently in the aircraft's logbook, and every pilot who participates leaves a mark on Tailstrike history.

The Aircraft

  • Reg: ZK-DAY
  • Type: Cessna 172 Skyhawk
  • Starting point: NZQN, Queenstown International, New Zealand

How It Works

  • The first leg is NZQN (Queenstown) to YBCG (Gold Coast). How the plane gets there is up to the pilots
  • Subsequent legs will be decided by community votes in Discord
  • Fly the aircraft and earn a badge. Every participating pilot is commemorated permanently.

Join In

Lease and fly the aircraft when it becomes available and write your name into history. Follow along even if you can't fly, and vote on where it goes next.

Tailstrike is a persistent shared world for flight simulation. Every aircraft is one shared airframe with its own history. Land it, and it stays where you left it, with the fuel you left in it, waiting for the next pilot.
